The Moon revolves(旋转) around Earth. It takes about one month for it to make the trip around our planet. When it begins its trip around Earth, it is called a new moon. A new moon is almost invisible(看不见). In the middle of its trip, we see a full moon. A full moon is a bright circle of light.

文化类·革命传统Several months ago, many people talked about an acknowledgement(致谢) from a doctoral thesis(博士论文). “I have come a long way and had many difficulties to present this thesis to you all. During the 22 years of studying, I've met a lot of troubles,” the writer, Huang Guoping, wrote at the beginning of his thesis.
In the thesis, he said he was born in a mountainous area and his mother left home when he was 12. Huang was leading a hard life by catching fish. He lived with his father and grandmother, both of whom died when he was 17.
If not the scholarships(奖学金) from schools and the honor credentials(奖状) that he put up on the wall of his room, he would give up, Huang said. Thanks to such moments, he had lived through many more difficult times. For example, his clothes got wet on the way to school on rainy days and he had no clothes to change into. Also he had trouble paying for tuition(学费). Any of the moment could become “the last straw(稻草) that breaks a camel's back”, he wrote.
Huang achieved his dream. He went from a middle school to a university and finally to the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
