Some children give up easily and go to their mom and dad for help when they meet a problem. Try to let them solve it by themselves first. By doing it, they will get a sense of success.

Pam: I like to look something up in the paper dictionary. The explanations are so clear that I can understand better soon. I don’t think the online dictionary is believable. Sometimes there are some wrong usages.
Mike: If you are not good at memorizing English words, you can look up their meanings online very soon. It helps you finish reading the English passages more quickly. If you are a good language learner, you can always learn more in a shorter time in an online dictionary. It saves much time.
What can you do to use the dictionary wisely
It’s important to learn effectively（ 高效地）with the help of a dictionary whether you use a paper dictionary or an e-dictionary. First, you should choose a dictionary you like. Second, information selection is necessary. Next, we need to compare the information. Then we can put it in the context （上下文）in the passage so that we can decide the explanation.
