教学目标: 1. Language ability: Ss can grasp the main idea of this passage and get the structure and logic of the text, understand the features of the essay. 2. Cultural awareness: By completing the task, Ss set up self-confidence in expressing their opinions about the advantages and disadvantages of online friendship and establish a correct view on friendship. 3. Thinking quality: Ss can practice their critical thinking by discussing the advantages and disadvantages of online friendship. 4. Learning ability: Ss can improve their reading ability by fast reading and careful reading.By creating the situation, students do the practice to develop their comprehensive language ability.
教学重点: 1.Understand the whole passage through reading. 2.Get to know the main idea of each paragraph. 3.Learn about the stylistic features of argumentation. 教学难点: 1.Sort out the relevant details of making friends online. 2.Know and judge the phenomenon of making online friends in a proper way.
教学过程: Step 1 Lead-in(3 minutes) Enjoy a video Teacher asks students to enjoy a video about a song and asks the following questions: (1)What is the song about (2)How do you usually make friends Design intention: Introduce the topic of this unit (friendship) with the song to stimulate students' interest in learning and form a natural transition. Step 2 Pre-reading (2 minutes) Review some key words Teacher asks students to match the key words with their Chinese meaning by a game and try to remember the Chinese meaning. Design intention: Get the students familiar with the key words in an interesting way and make preparation for reading. Step 3 While-reading Read from the title(2 minutes) Students are required to read the title and try to get more information from the title to predict what the passage is going to talk about. Teacher asks the following questions: What does “click” mean What’s the meaning of “Click for a Friend ” A. Make friends face to face B. Make friends online C. Pen friends (3) Pay attention to the punctuation mark. It is a _________ about making friends online. Design intention: Guide students to pay attention to and dig out the connotation of the title of the article, and cultivate students' awareness and ability to predict the content of the article through the title. Students read the passage again and work in groups to find out the answers to the following questions in 8 minutes.
