(一)元音字母(a,e,i,o,u)的发音技巧
1.元音字母a的短元音是/?/,发音时,舌端靠近下齿,舌前部抬高,舌位低,在四个前元音里,舌位最低,但开口最大,属于短元音,但是在实际发音中有相当的长度,牙床介于半开和开之间,不圆唇,出现在字首和字中的位置。例如:mat, map, bag, cat, bat, fan, apple等。
2.元音字母e的短元音是/e/,发音时舌尖抵下齿,舌前部稍抬起,嘴唇向两侧微微分开。发音时下巴逐渐向下移动,震动声带,发出/e/音。例如:leg, desk, better, head, death, egg, get, net, pet等。
3.元音字母i的短元音为/I/,发音时,舌端靠近下齿,舌前部抬高,舌位中高,不接触上颚,没有摩擦,牙床半合,唇形扁平。例如:lick, six, pig, pin, kiss, ink, hill, taxi, chilli等。
4.元音字母o的短元音是/?/,舌身低平后缩,双唇稍稍收圆,并向前突出。例如:dog, hot, bottle, not, fog, knock, lot, lost, log等。
5.元音字母u的短元音是/u/,发音双唇收圆,稍稍向外突出,嘴形小而圆,嘴角肌肉放松。例如:book, bush, good, full, pull等。
(二)语言的得体性
教材中的听力文本包括三段对话。围绕外国学生Amy到中国某校入学,开始新的学习生活展开。三段对话都发生在校园环境中,由于交际场合和交际对象身份(即交际语境)的不同,所使用的语言也有所变化。
第一段对话发生在师生之间,新生Amy办理入学报到手续。由于是第一次见面,双方都使用了较为正式的打招呼的语言,例如:“Good morning. Nice to meet you.”。此外,对话中还有询问以及答复基本信息的语言表达,例如:“what's your last name again ” “And where are you from?” “My name is ...” “I'm from ...”等。
第二段对话发生在同学之间,在餐厅见面打招呼并讨论自己喜欢的课程,语气较为随意,例如:“Hi, Amy! How's it going?” “Great.”。
第三段对话是学生Amy向老师咨询课程选择,Amy使用了比较正式的语言,例如:“Good morning” “Very well, thank you.”。
