Once I was outside doing some yard work when I saw a shadow coming down the street. But when I looked up,I only saw darkness for a second! If it was just a plane, why wasn’t there a loud noise If it was a kite, who was flying it If it was a bird, what bird could create a shadow that was twenty times the size of a normal hawk’s shadow
I asked my mother about the mystery. She told me she also had seen the giant bird shadows. And she guessed they were thunderbirds! That’s because it’s said that this kind of bird is very large. But the thunderbird was just a mythical(神话的) bird in American Indian culture. My mother even told me lots of times just before the shadows appeared, rabbits and other little animals would run away and hide!
