A: I see. What steps are you going to take to make your artwork
B: First, I’ll cut the red leaves into small circles. They will be the eyes of the goldfish and I will use small red leaves as their lips.
A: What’s next
B: The next step is to choose yellow leaves of various sizes and shapes. They’ll be used to make the bodies, fins and tails of the fish.
A: I guess the other leaves will all be the water plants
B: Right! As soon as everything is ready, I’ll arrange them so the goldfish are
swimming among colourful water plants. Lastly, I’ll glue them to the paper. Once everything is dry, my unique art piece will be done!
A: Wow, we must show this masterpiece to the rest of the class!
Learning about the text type
Instructions are the written information that tells readers how to do or use something. This type of writing is supposed to include enough details so that readers can follow easily.

Learning about the structure
When writing step-by-step instructions for creating an unusual picture, you can follow the structure below:
Start with a brief introduction explaining what kind of unusual picture will be created.
List the things needed to make the picture. You can use a heading like “What you need”, “Things you need” or “Materials and tools”.
Give well-organized directions under the heading of “What to do”, “Procedures” or “Directions”. You can use numbers when listing the steps in order. Make sure to include key points and important warnings.

Make your sentences short and clear.
Use the imperative mood or passive voice in each step.

Making a Hot-Air Balloon
Have you ever tried to make a hot-air balloon out of a disposable paper cup It’s interesting and simple! Follow the steps below to make a colourful one.
Materials and tools:
One disposable paper cup,a pair of scissors,a piece of cardboard,a solid glue stick,watercolour pens,blue coloured clay
Procedures:
Step 1:Cut the disposable paper cup into halves.
Step 2:Stick one piece of the disposable paper cup to the cardboard using the glue stick.
Step 3:Draw the hot-air balloon’s umbrella stand using the black watercolour pen.
Step 4:Apply other colours to the paper cup and the cardboard to make the balloon colourful.
Step 5:Make clouds using the blue coloured clay and stick them to the cardboard.
Display your work for your family and friends to see.
