Analysis of the Teaching Material The theme of this unit is “Cultural Heritage”. And “video time” is the 8th period of this unit. It shows students a video about the Great Wall, in which an old man and a group of volunteers help protect the Great Wall. A match game should be done to make preparations for this video then they will try to check whether the statements are true or false while watching. At last, some sentences from the video have some blanks for students to complete. Students will be clearer about the content of the protection of the Great Wall. Analysis of the Students Students in Senior 1 are quite familiar with the Great Wall, but they may not be familiar with the current situation and the methods of protecting it. Therefore, in this period, students are encouraged to know more about the Great Wall. Most importantly, students are supposed to know the cultural heritage of their hometown and know how to help protect their own cultural heritage.

Reflection Students were active in this period, because they love video time. They could find information through the video. The atmosphere in this period was quite good. But several students were not active during the discussion session for they felt shy and not confident to speak English with their classmates. The teacher should encourage them more often.
