Review
Use some topic words to summarize what we have learnt about Yuan Longping and his innovation.
At that time, farmers had a serious shortage of food to eat. To tackle this crisis, Yuan Longping chose to study agriculture. Yuan was convinced that the answer could be found in the creation of hybrid rice. Through intense effort, Yuan overcame enormous technical difficulties to develop hybrid rice. This hybrid rice enabled farmers to expand their output greatly. It is estimated that about 60% of domestic rice consumption in China is comprised of crops generated from Yuan’s hybrid. After that, one might think he would have retired to a life of leisure. But as a man of soil, he cared little about celebrity or money. Yuan had devoted his life to millions of Chinese farmers.
