Learning objectives:
By the end of this section, students will be able to:
1.know about the advantages and disadvantages of plastic surgery;
2.finish the listening exercise and acquire the listening skills;
3.take part in class activities actively and use the learnt expressions to express themselves.
Learning procedures:
Step 1 Lead-in
Watch a video about a ten-year-old boy who born with a deformed face(天生脸部畸形). And answer the following questions:
What is the attitude of his classmates towards the boy Why
From the movie, what did the boy do to look normal
Step 2 Reading
Task 1 Read the two news stories about plastic surgery quickly and find out the topic sentence and the words that express emotional attitude(情感态度).

Alice, a news reporter, is reporting on plastic surgery. Listen and finish the exercises below.

Suppose you are the boss of a plastic surgery company in ten years, and you meet your classmate by chance on the road. You want to solicit business(招揽生意), and then you start a conversation.
Sample:
A(the boss)：It's been a long time after graduation. You don't look so good now. How’s everything going
B(the classmate): As you can see, I've aged a lot. But you're more beautiful. How did that happen
A: Plastic surgery can quickly improve our appearance/give me confidence. I have a plastic surgery company. Come and learn more about them.
B: No, to be honest, I’m against plastic surgery because it carries health risks/health problems./it’s very expensive/dangerous.
A: Plastic surgery is very popular! It can help people who have burn marks/It has many benefits.
B:Yes, of course. But I think plastic surgery is unnecessary for me. Everyone’s face is unique./It’s impossible to be perfect.
A: Ok, fine. If you change your mind, give me a call. Choosing me will be cheaper/nicer /more reliable.
B: Ok, goodbye/see you later.
