Analysis of teaching material and teaching content
This lesson mainly introduces Yuan Longping’s life and his hybrid rice. The countryside is the palace of his scientific research, and his scientific research is hybrid rice. His family background, his studies, and his dedication to rice research. He lived a life just like ordinary people, but he was busy with great things. After he became famous, he was indifferent to fame and wealth. The fourth paragraph mainly describes Mr. Yuan Longping’s dream, showing his great spirit of thinking of the people.
The method of teaching
This class mainly adopts task-based Language Teaching, Cooperative Learning Approach and Whole Language Teaching method Communicative Approach, Communicative Approach, Affective Motivation and other teaching methods.
1. Task-based language teaching method
TBLT holds that the process of using language is a process of completing various tasks. Task-based learning emphasizes “learning by doing” and “learning by doing”, enabling students to acquire language in the process of completing tasks. This course organizes a study group of six students and through discussion, exchange and cooperation, in nature, the real situation, to complete the task, realize and grasp the application of language, to achieve the purpose of their major.
2. Audio-visual teaching method
Make full use of multimedia teaching means, by playing video clips, pictures and charts related to the subject of the text and other intuitive means, while fully arousing students’ interest in learning, reduce the difficulty of learning and break through the difficult points.
3. Cooperative learning pedagogy
Cooperative learning teaching method is a kind of teaching activity with group activity as the main body, a cooperative and interactive activity between partners. Cooperative learning is beneficial to improve the classroom psychological atmosphere, improve students’ academic performance, promote the development of students’ good non-intellectual qualities, and adjust students’ sense of language anxiety. Therefore, this lesson break the traditional teacher one-way infusion, the classroom teaching structure study group is to organize teaching, aims to create a relaxed learning atmosphere, provide favorable conditions for active learning, lets the student in the process of completing the task through communicate with each other, to reduce language anxiety, obtain good learning experience, to take an interest in learning itself, and the content of what they have learned.
4. Emotional motivation teaching method
In teaching, teachers and students should pay attention to the exchange of ideas, fully mobilize their emotional appeal, timely emotional and strategic adjustment, through emotional stimulation, teachers and students to achieve emotional integration, development and innovation in a pleasant classroom atmosphere, experience success.
Study Method Guidance
Cognitive strategies: Instruct students to sort out and summarize what they have learned by grasping key points, making marks and taking notes.

Teaching Procedures
Pre-reading (8mintues): To stimulate learning interest, clear learning tasks. Preview the important words and phrases.
While-reading (13minutes): Skim the whole text. Match the main ideas with each part and he main idea of each paragraph. Read for detailed information. Figure out the process of hybrid rice.
Post-reading (8minutes): Role play: Suppose that the class room is a award ceremony. One acts the host, the other acts Dr. Yuan. Summarize the moral qualities of pioneers.
Language points (10minutes): To analyze the important sentences and stress the languages points in these sentences.
Homework (1minute): Write an article.
Blackboard writing design
Show the teaching process on the blackboard so that students can understand the class structure of the lesson. Write key words and phrases to deepen their memory.
