Lead in(3minutes) Show some cases of ellipsis in the public signs. (Purpose:通过广告语中的省略现象引入,激发学生的学习兴趣) Presentation(12minutes) 观察--归纳---总结 T shows some sentences and asks Ss to observe the example sentences. Ss should think about questions: Where is ellipsis used in the sentence What's missing (1)A: Oh,I just love milk. A: Me, too.(I love mlik, too.) (2)A real mix of cultures here.((There is) a real mix of cultures here.) (3)Can’t wait. ((I) can’t wait (to go there)). What is Ellipsis Why should we use Ellipsis 为了避免重复,将句子中的一个或几个成分省去,这种语法现象叫省略。省略是避免重复、突出新信息并使上下文紧密连接的一种语法手段。 After Ss give answers, T adds more knowledge about them.T shows some sentences and asks Ss to observe the usage of ellipsis. Based on Ss’ answers, T replenishes some knowledge.Finally, T guides Ss to conclude the relative knowledge about ellipsis. Ellipsis in simple sentence简单句 1. (You) Go down this street, turn right and you’ll find the school. 2. (Is there) Anything else 3. — Excuse me, are you from the China — Yes, I am (from the China). 4. What a beautiful girl(it is)! 1. 祈使句的省略。在祈使句中,通常省略主语__you___。 2. there be 句型省略__there be_______。 3. 疑问句的答语省略。 4. 感叹句的省略。在 what 和 how 引导的感叹句中常省略_主语和be动词 Ellipsis in compound sentence并列句 1.Mr. Smith picked up a coin on the road and (Mr. Smith) handed it to a policeman. 1.省略共同的____主语或宾语________ 2.Jack must have been playing football and Mary (must have been) doing her homework. 2.若主语不同而其后的助动词、情态动词相同,则省略后面的___情态动词或助动词_____ Ellipsis in clause从句· 1.定语从句的省略 1. Jeddy is the policeman (whom) you’ve been looking for. 2. The cat (that) I raised at home has a cute head. 3. I don’t like the way (that / in which) he talks in public. 如果关系代词在定语从句中作 __宾语____,则关系代词可以省略,(但whom,which紧跟在介词后时不能省略)。修饰way的关系词that、in which 可以省略。 2.宾语从句的省略 1. He said (that) the text was very important and that we should learn it by heart. 2. He said (that) the book was very interesting and that (不省略) all the children liked to read it. 及物动词后接宾语从句时,连接词_that____一般可以省略,但如果及物动词后接两个或两个以上由__that___引导的宾语从句时,那么只有第一个 that 可以省略。 3.状语从句的省略 1. When (the novel is) published, the novel will become one of the best sellers of the year. 2. Though (they were) tired, they went on with the work until it was finished. 3. He did as (he was) told by his mother. 4.He put up his hand as if (he were) to say something at the meeting. 5. If (it is) possible, I will go there with you for a dictionary. 当when, while, if, as if, though, as, until, unless 等连接的状语从句的主语和主句的主语一致,且状语从句中含有 be 动词或从句的主语为 it 时,省略状语从句中的 ___主语或be动词______________。 (Purpose:学生先自主观察归纳,然后老师再进行补充讲解。有利于提高学生在课堂的参与度和积极性,加深对于该知识点的理解,培养自主学习能力。) Practice(15 mins) Drill practice T asks Ss to complete the sentences .Then T asks some volunteers to share their answers and T explains. (Purpose:学生通过机械练习,学生根据所学,自主补充句子省略部分。 有利于学生熟悉并巩固省略现象在句子中的使用。) Production(9 mins) Fill in the blanks. (Purpose: 通过句子改写,训练学生将省略现象运用于实际情景的能力) Homework (1mins) 完成优化方案相关习题。
