A possible version:
A Lesson from Ants
One day, I was resting in my grandparent's garden when I saw that the sky was covered with dark clouds, this being a sure sign of rain. All of a sudden, an ant came into my sight. The tiny creature was trying hard to carry a tiny piece of bread to its nest, but its efforts were in vain. Each time the ant picked up the piece of bread, it rolled down its body and fell onto the ground. While I was wondering why the ant was trying so hard to achieve the impossible, it was joined by more ants. This group of ants worked together, and eventually they managed to carry the piece of bread to their nest.
Similarly,we can cooperate and collaborate in order to achieve what seems impossible for us to do as individuals. In order to achieve our goals, we should work together.

Ⅰ阅读理解
I think the most profound influence in my life was my father. He was an inventor and a scientist with an inquisitive(好奇的)mind. He loved and was greatly stimulated by the beauty and the design he found in nature. Once he was asked how he got the idea for his invention, the silencer. He answered,"By watching the way water behaved when it went down a drain(排水管).”
This simple statement opened up for me the ideas which led to a firm belief that human intelligence needs no bounds. I believe that through the use of our intelligence we will move progressively closer to an understanding of man and of the universe around us and that this knowledge will bring a closer harmony between man and his surroundings. And then, this way lies the chance to make the world a better place to live.
Then I remember sitting with him on his boat one night in early September. He was deeply interested in astronomy and the stars were brilliant. He led my mind into unforgettable speculation (思索)as we explored the great beauty of that night. I think from this I came to understand that there must be law and order in our universe. There is design. Humans can observe. Humans can learn to understand. Finally, humans can apply. The secret is to apply in the interests of the common good. It is not for one or a few but for all people.
My mother and father each had an acute social conscience. They believed that because good fortune had given them better than average opportunities, they had a duty to perform in their communities. From this, no doubt, came my own conviction(主张)that I must give more than I receive and that a satisfactory life must be measured by its usefulness to others. I learned that each one of us has a right to his beliefs. From this understanding, I moved into the belief that people everywhere must learn how to work together for the common purpose of the improvement of human beings.

A. Humans are the most intelligent creatures. B.We are responsible for making the world better.
C. Father's words guided her to form her view of life. D. We should trust our own beliefs.
3.What does the writer learn from the experience of seeing stars?
A.The law of the universe never changes.
B.There are many secrets for us to explore in the universe.
C.What she saw that night had a profound influence on her future.
D.What people learn from nature can be applied to benefit all humans.
4.Why do the writer's parents want to perform a duty in their communities?
A.They can gain more opportunities. B.They are more talented than others.
C.They are in gratitude for their luck. D.They hope to help others.
Ⅱ七选五
Nature has a lot to offer. 1. _______Here are some valuable life lessons.
Respect your roots. With time, a young tree grows into full grown one; something that was so tiny and delicate develops into a strong tree capable of supporting others. However tall it grows, its roots are firmly buried where it once rose. 2._______Hopefully, we ought to give something back to those humble beginnings that developed us into who we are.
Let sorrow disappear. If you cut a hole in the tree, it will grow around it. Whatever may come in its way, a river will continue to flow. Similarly, whatever sorrow may break your heart, know that life goes on. 3.___
Learn to coexist peacefully. Nature provides every creature a chance to exist, however big or small it may be. 4._______The tiger eats the antelope; without the antelope, the tiger wouldn't survive. Likewise, without tigers, the overpopulation of antelopes would cause them to starve to death.
5.________Just like the icy cold snow melts in the warmth of spring to give birth to fresh green leaves, when autumn comes, these leaves age into shades of gold only to be once again buried in the cold winter. Change is unavoidable. It is important that we enjoy what we have to the fullest because who knows how long it will last. Meanwhile, we shouldn't get so attached to things that parting leads to heartbreak and sorrow.
What to learn from nature is limitless. Respect, admire her and imitate her ways into your life.
A. Change is the only constant.
B. She inspires creatures to challenge themselves.
C. We should learn to respect and hold on to our origins.
D. Some of these animals are now in danger of extinction.
E. She teaches us values that may lead to a full and happy life.
F. The pain will weaken and enable you to grow in the process.
G. But the existence of one creature depends on the existence of the other.
