Ⅰ. Analysis of the teaching matertal
This teaching period mainly deals with tle grammar : predicative clause This period carries significance to the cultivation of students’ grammar knowledge and lays a solid foundation for the basic usage of the grammar. The teacher is expected to enable students to master - the predicative clause thoroughly and consolidate the krowledge by doing some exercise of good quality .
Ⅱ. Analysis of the learning situation
Students have finished reading the passage, and they have mastered some sentence patterns, understood the meanings of the sentences, most importantly, the have learned one of the main clauses - subject clause. But they may have difficulty in distinguishing the predicative and apply predicative clause in real situations properly and correctly .
Ⅲ . Learning Objectives & Literacy Goals :
Knowledge Ability
Guide students to summarise the form, defination, position and fuction, meaning of prechcative clause through contexts .
To know how to judge the predicatie clause , and master the conjunctions of prealicative clause.
Learning Ability
Train students ' ability to observe and sort out the importont information .
Cultural Awareness
Stimulate students' interest in Science and cultivate students ' awareness in exploration
Thinking Capacity
Improve students' logical thinkng in summarising the key points in grammar- Predicative clause. Strengthen students’ innovative thinking by guiding them to apply the predicative clause in their writing to describe the great scientists ' qualities.
IV. Key Points:
In this period, we will mainly focus on the usage of predicative clauce , mainly covers its form, defination, position and fuction, meaning, etc.
V . Difficult points :
Students may have difficulty in applying predlicative clauce and describing a great person’s qualities proporly and corectly using the target language.

VII. Teaching Procedures:
Step 1 Greetings and Leading - in
Greet students as usual .
2 Lead in by showing some sentences and give students time to observe and sum up the function of predicative .
Step 2 Revision
1 hevow the conjunctions of subject clause
Review the linking verbs to help students better identify predicative in a Sentence .
Step3. Presentation
Find out the predicative clause in the reading text on P2.
Analyze tle sentences and sum up the fuction and meaning of the pedicative clause as well as the conjunctions
Summarize the sentence structure of a predicative clause .

Step4 Conjunctins in Predicative clause
Analysz the sentenes with different conjunctions leading predicative clause , and sum up the meanigs and functions .
Step5 Sujunctive mood in predicative clause
主语是表"建议、命令、要求"等意义的名词时,表语从句中谓语动词用"( should )+ V 原形"
eg : My Proposal is that we ( should ) start early tomorrow .
一坚持 insist
二命令 order , command
三建议 advice , Suggestin , Proposal , recommendation
四要求 requirement , request , demand , desire .-.
as if/ as though 引导的表语从句,若表真实情况,谓语动词用陈述语气,否则就用虚拟语气、
现在→ did / were
过去→ had done
将来→ would / could / might + V原形
eg :
Dark clouds are gathering, it looks as if it is going to rain.
I feel as if my heart were burning .
He felt as if he had met this young lady before somewhere.
I am cleaning the house, it looks as if my girlfriend would come tomorroqw.

Ⅷ Teaching Reflections :
This period is based on the previous unit , so it ' s easier for students to comprehend , and most students performed well in class and exercise.
