1. Students will check whether they have mastered the grammar and vocabulary in this unit. 2. Students will be able to learn some skills and habits of keeping fit. 3. Students will make a self-assessment of their learning of this unit.
教学内容
教学重点: 1. Students master the grammar and vocabulary in this unit. 2. Students make a self-assessment of their learning in this unit. 教学难点: Students learn to make a self-assessment of their learning in this unit objectively.
教学过程
Activity 1: Talking about the unit theme. Student talk about what they have learnt about the unit theme by answering the question: Can you say something about the topic “healthy lifestyle” with what you have learned Activity 2: Writing down the word that matches the meaning. Students write down the words according to the English definitions. __________ v. destroy the peace or tranquility (安宁) of someone. __________ adj. happening once a month or every month. __________ adj. causing or capable of causing harm. __________ n. a thin tube of paper filled with tobacco, for smoking. __________ n. a medical treatment where someone’s body is cut open so that a doctor can repair, remove, or replace a diseased or damaged part. __________ n. an expert who gives advice. __________ adj. very interested in sth. /sb. so that you are not paying attention to anything else. Activity 3: Learning about some key words. Students review and learn about the key words, such as disturb, monthly and absorb. Activity 4: Consolidation Students finish Exercise1 on page22 in the textbook and check the answers. Students complete the passage using the correct forms of the words in the box and learn something about breaking a bad habit. Activity 5: Reviewing the grammar – Infinitives Students review the grammar of infinitives used as subject, predicative, attributive, adverbial and object complement. Activity 6: Consolidation Students finish Exercise2 on page22 in the textbook and check the answers. Students correct eight mistakes underlined in the passage, read the passage again, and then give a title to it. Activity 7: Reflecting Students make a self-assessment of what they have learned in the unit by answering the following questions: 1. Do you know what a healthy lifestyle is after finishing this unit 2. What is the most useful thing that you have learnt in this unit 3. How can you use what you have learnt to improve your lifestyle 4. What new words and expressions have you learnt in this unit 5. Can you use the infinitive as the subject properly in different situations 6. Overall, I thought this unit was cool useful just OK difficult.
