教学实施过程:
1. Have students review the words and expressions related to the topic of
natural disasters in this unit.
2. Have students discuss different rescue methods in natural disasters using
part A on page 27 as a guide.
3. Have students list the rescue methods mentioned and add more methods they
know of. Ask students to answer the following questions.
(1) What other rescue methods do you know of
Satellite positioning systems and field hospitals help a lot in rescuing
operations.
(2) What are the traditional searching and rescuing methods And what are the
modern ones
Traditional methods: search and rescue dogs, field hospitals ...
Modern methods: life detectors, search and rescue robots, unmanned aircraft
satellite positioning systems ...
4. Have students in groups choose one rescue method and briefly answer the

(1) What rescue method do you choose And why do you choose it
We choose unmanned aircraft because it is more convenient for detecting and
locating survivors in dangerous terrain and inaccessible areas, which saves
considerable time in rescue operations.
(2) What more do you want to know about this rescue method
We would like to know more about its efficiency.
5. Have students go through part B and find additional different aspects to
conduct further research about the chosen rescue method.
6. Have students go through part C and pay attention to the sample information
folder’s content and structure.
7. Have students sort out information about their chosen topic and put it
together in a logical way.
8. Have students proofread the writing to make sure there are no language
mistakes.
9. Have students present their group work to the rest of the class and ask
other groups to ask questions about it or put forward suggestions.
10. Have students evaluate other groups’ works in class.
11. Have students improve the content and structure of their works and then
make a complete information folder.
