Born in Sanming, Fujian Province,Lin Yuwei wasn't very fit when she was a young child. That was why her father, Lin Jiabao, got her into sports, in the,hope that she would become healthier and stronger.
Surprisingly, Lin fell in love with PE. She became a very talented(有天赋的)student in her PE teacher's eyes. In 2014, she got three gold medals (金牌). Back then she was only 15 years old. Do you want to become a wildlife biologist If so, you might be interested in the Mule Deer Foundation(黑尾鹿基金会).It’s a foundation in North America with lots of wildlife biologists. They use radio collars (颈圈) to make connections(联系) with mule deer. However, these collars are not for play. They're used to collect information for biologists to understand the habits of mule deer.
Jessie Shallow is a member of that foundation. She loved animals and studied biology in college. After graduation, she became a river guide. During this period, one of her co-workers worked with the Mule Deer Foundation and asked her to help. So, she became a volunteer and worked to collar mule deer. However, it was challenging. Once, Jessie walked as far as 42 kilometres to collect collars and even spent the night in the wild!
After working with mule deer for a few years, Jessie wanted to start a research project.
