Warm-up Quick response: What did Mark Twain do at the age of 12 What did he do in the 1860s How many plays did Shakespeare write When did the theatre company build the Globe Theatre Free talk: When and where were you born Were you happy there Which primary school did you go to Did you have a lot of friends there Pre-writing Learn and practise: Finish activity 1 on page 58. Make a summary about the usage of the Simple Past Tense. Then finish the activity 2 on page 58. Learn and practise: Complete the questions about father’s past life. Make a summary about the usage of the Simple Past Tense. Then finish the activity 3 on page 58. Write and retell: Finish the activity 4 on page plete the timeline of Deng Yaping’s past life according to the activity 4. Retell her past life according to the timeline and the tips. Writing Write: Ask one of your family member about his/her past life. List your questions, draw a timeline and make some notes. And write the passage according to the checklist. Post-writing Homework: Write a passage about your family member’s past life. Polish it according to the checklist. If you like, make a poster about their past lives. Think about the differences between their past lives and yours.
