教学过程
Step 1. A brief review of the story What adversities had they met and how did they cope with them sinking of the ship miserable living conditions harsh weather a lack of decent food in low spirits 2. Read the text, and find expressions about “adversity” and “courage (solution)”. Step 2. Building up your language Adversity: become stuck in the ice be well and truly stuck get crushed by the ice Our heart sank with the ship. The ice began to melt. We have been struggling for days. go from bad to worse this miserable place I felt low. It’s cold and windy. Courage/ Solution: abandon the ship calmly call us together rescue most essential supplies be allowed to keep his banjo keep our spirits up crowd together genuine concern for others perseverance Their resolve filled me with hope. Step 3.
