ObjectivesActivitiesAssessmentlearn the project of making a travel guide brochure for Tony. Ss learn the project: The 19th Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou. Aa co-host city, Wenzhou also attract a lot of foreingers’ eyes. Your friend Tony plans to take a trip in Wenzhou for three days. Please design a travel guide brochure for him based on your travelling experiences, which includes scenic spots, travel route, delicious local food, travel tips and so on. Ss discuss how to make a travel guide brochure Ss discuss and share their ideas: travel spots, travel route, local food and travel tips.Observe if students understand the project.Observe if students can share their ideas about how to make a travel guide brochure. If not, show some examples with pictures which can help them understand what a brochure is. Purpose: To share the project at the beginning of the class, ss will have a clear mind about what they are going to do in this class. The activities can help ss to recall the knowledge they learned about travelling which provides support for the next step.Review and consolidate the ways to introduce travelling experiences. & Learn how to make a brochure by discussing in groups. Task1 : Choose travel spots Ss answer two questions:Q1: What places of interest in Wenzhou do you know Q2: Which places would you like to choose for Tony And why Possible answers: Because they are very famous. Because I visited it before.Review how to talk about travelling experiences. Ss are supposed to share their travelling experiences to Tony to help him find out the places to visit. Ss review by the mind-map of travelling experiences.Students review how to describe the traveling experiences by learning from Tony’s and Emma’s travelling experiences.3.1 Tony’s journeySs complete the questions for Tony’s journey.Ss listen and answer the questions.Then check by making conversations with partners.3.2 Emma’s journeySs complete the email with proper words and check by reading each paragraph.ss read the email again and complete the chart.4.Ss choose the travel spots by sharing their travelling experiences. Task 2 Design travel route1. After choosing the travel spots—Yandang Mountain, Jiangxin Island, Nanxi River, ss design the travel route by reading the tour map of Wenzhou and the position of Tony.2. give an example to make a more beautiful brochure:introduction of the travelling spots with some pictures.Task3: Decide travel tips1.Ss discuss in groups about what travel tips can give to Tony to help him have a better travelling experience.2. ss share their ideas.3. Make a final determination after collecting the ideas for the whole class.Observe if students know well about the travel spots of their hometown. During the activities, students work in groups and help each other which can improve their ability of cooperation. Make a travel guide brochure of Wenzhou to advertise our hometown.Summary Ss think and share what they mainly learn in this class.How to make a travel guide brochure. Observe if students remember what have learnt in this class and help them finish their hometown in an easier way. And check if students can make a travel guide brochure to advertise their home town.Assignment:For all: 1. Do Activity 8 and 9.2.
