教学重点: 1.To improve the students reading comprehension ability of the passage. 2.To help them learn writing about composers and musicians. 教学难点: 1.To introduce a famous musician from four parts (introduction, experience, achievement, comment ).
教学过程
Step 1 Warming-up Task 1 Let’s watch and talk Enjoy the video and think what kind of music it is. They are rock music, Beijing opera and dance music. [Notes: To lead Ss into the topic and make them interested in it. ] Step 2 Pre-reading Task 2 Let’s predict T asks Ss to predict what the passage is about. [Notes: To practice Ss’ predicting skill and make them interested in the passage.] Step 3 While-reading Task 3 Let’s read and match T asks Ss to skim the passage in 2 minutes. After it, Ss divide the passage into three parts and pick up the main idea of each part. [Notes]: To practice Ss’ skimming skill and make them familiar with the organization of this passage. Task 4 Let’s read and search T asks Ss to read the passage carefully and search the information. Ss can understand the meaning of some nouns and adjectives. [Notes: To make Ss read carefully about Vienna.] Task 5 Let’s read and think Think about the question: Why is Vienna called the city of music People and culture make Vienna a city of music! [Notes: To make Ss read in details and understand the passage from words and phrases.] Task 6 Let’s read and summarize T asks students to think about the similarities between Johann Strauss the elder and Johann Strauss the younger. The possible answer is name, Waltz, success and so on. [Notes: To make Ss think carefully and analyze the passage.] Task 7 Let’s read and analyze Conclude three parts of the passage, including introduction, achievement and comment. And also learn some expressions to help students to talk about a musician. [Notes: To make Ss know how to introduce a musician more clearly.] Task 10 Let’s practise and retell According to the timeline, Students are able to retell Mozart’s experience. [Notes: To make Ss know how to write a experience. ]. Step 4 Post-reading Task 11 Let’s read and match Think about the question: What made them successful Possible answer: music-focused, hard-working, talented, city culture, family influence and so on. Task 12 Let’s think and talk Give some comments to Xian xinghai and introduce him. Task 14 Let’s share Step 4 Homework Must-do:Write a passage about Xian xinghai. Choose to do: Know musicians you like and find more information from the Internet.
