why引导的定语从句
[教材原句] There are various reasons why people compose poetry.

此句中含有why引导的定语从句,why在从句中作原因状语,此时可
用for which替换。
reason作先行词时,如果定语从句中缺主语、宾语或表语,一般用
that/which引导,也可省略。

(2) I am starving for the position is that I can improve my spoken English and help foreign students have a better understanding of Chinese culture.

主语+be+形容词+动词不定式
[教材原句] The poems may not make sense and even seem contradictory,but they are easy to learn and recite.
这些童谣也许没有道理,甚至自相矛盾,但是很容易学习和背诵。(P50)
此句中的they are easy to learn and recite是“主语+be+形容词+动词不定式”句型:
动词不定式在该句型中用主动形式表示被动意义。
常用于该句型的形容词多为表示主语性质、特征的词,如hard,
difficult,pleasant,easy,comfortable,interesting等。
动词不定式和主语为逻辑上的动宾关系;当不定式中的动词为不及
物动词时,后面要加适当的介词。
(1)The room I have rented recently is comfortable to live .
