2. 写一封电子邮件介绍自己班级优秀同学(包括外貌、个性、感受及其他细节)。
教学难点: 运用所梳理的语言在情境中从外貌、个性、感受及其他细节等方面描述班级优秀同学。
教学过程
Lead-in Greeting T:Hello, boys and girls.I’m happy to give you a lesson from New Standard English of Grade8 Module1 Feelings and impressions. Unit3 Language in use Period 1. In this period ,you are going to: 1.retrieve and summarize languages about appearance,feelings and personalities in activities of learning and understanding; 2.internalize and utilize related languages to describe an ideal friend in activities of applying and practicing; 3.write an email to the school newspaper editor to recommend a Top Student in your class in the activities of transferring and creating. Step1.Challenge1--Describe a friend Activity1:Ss Choose words to describe a friend’s appearance and personalities Show questions and words for Ss to choose to describe a friend’s appearance and personalities: T:Boys and girls.What does your friend look like What is he/she like Please choose proper words from (beautiful,dark,fair,friendly,nice,old,pretty,proud,quiet,short,shy,strict,tall,young) to describe your friend’s appearance and personalities.Press stop button and practice for one minute. Ss choose and finish the chart in one minute. T: Get it So think:which is more important for a friend,appearance or personalities Obviously, personalities.Well, it’s a good way to describe a person from his appearance and personalities. Practice1:Ss make a conversation to describe a person. T:Now, let’s describe a person with his appearance and personalities in the conservation.Please stop the video for a minute and practice.(1minite later) Well done! Step2.Challenge2--Describe an ideal friend Activity2: Ss summarize and write down languages about appearance,personalities and feelings.Then use the languages to describe their ideal friend. T:Well, class, what kind of friend is your ideal friend How could we describe an ideal friend Ss: We can describe from his or her appearance,personalities and feelings. T:Yes, please write down the languages we can use on your task sheet.For appearance, we need to describe one’s height,age or body parts like:...is.... with...wears...carries...;Remember to add excellent personalities like:...is hard-working,confident,strong-minded...As for feelings, we can use five senses to describe. T:Here is a sample for you,please describe your ideal friend: My ideal friend is...with... He/She wears... He/She feels...when... He/She is... not only...but also...because... T:Remember to add feelings and details if it’s possible.Two minutes for you. Step3.Challenge3--Recommend a top student Activity3:Write an email to recommend a top student in your class with related languages. T:Your school newspaper is having an activity-- Who is The Top Student in Our School You are going to represent your class and write an email to recommend a top student in your class to the editor.The beginning is given.You’d better write in about 100 words.You also need to include the top student’s appearance, excellent personalities,feelings as well as other details.While writing ,Miss Chen hope you can use the self-assessment chart to evaluate your writing and give stars according to the content and language.Now ,of you go, please stop the video for 15minutes to write. T:After writing, how many stars can you get A student write a writing.Please read and give stars with the help of the Peer-assessment. So how many stars can you give him I want to give four stars to him because it doesn’t include personalities and its languages are not so rich. Step4.Homework T: Have you polish your writing For today’s homework, you must polish your writing according to self-assessment.
