教学目标
通过本节课的学习,学生能够: 1、使用现在完成时询问和回答航天新闻; 2、通过听对话,概括梳理出最新航天新闻,包括火星探索、是否存在生命、人类登月登火星等信息; 3、通过分析科学家的行为,感悟不断探索的航天精神; 4、通过分析判断Daming的情感变化,感受Daming聊完新闻后的求知和兴趣; 5、通过合作对话,了解中国航天事业取得的成就,增强民族自豪感。
教学内容
教学重点: 1.学生能够听懂关于航天话题的话题并提取信息 2.学生能够使用现在完成时谈论航天新闻
教学难点: 1. 如何引导学生感悟人物的情感变化和航天精神 2. 如何引导学生梳理归纳关于如何谈论航天新闻的结构化内容
教学过程
Stage Activities Purpose
Step 1: Lead in Activity 1: Free talk Greet and lead in the topic- space T: Recently, our school starts a project called “ Travel to Space ”. What will you think of when you see the word “space” S: earth, moon, spaceship, … To introduce the topic “space” by creating a real situation
Activity 2: Quiz (1) Ask students to do a quick quiz and test how much they know about space travel and review the use of present perfect tense T: Have scientists sent spaceships to the moon Have astronauts been to the moon Who has been to space in China Who has gone to space in China recently (2) Guide students to answer the questions by using present perfect tense T: Here is the latest news. Let’s find out some information. (3) Guide students to find out: what, who, when 1.To test how much students have known about space and practice the general questions of the tense. 2.Showing students the latest space news is to supplement students' extracurricular knowledge and prepare for the final activity.
Step 2: Listening 1 Step 3: Listening 2 Activity 1: Predict (1) Ask students to predict what they are going to hear through these words earth □ land □ message □ moon □ news □planet □ reach □ scientist □ T: Look at these words, please predict what’s the news about. (2) Guide students to predict and ask the reason Through prediction, students are encouraged to actively explore and think, and students' interest in learning can be maintained.
Activity 2: Listen and number (1) Ask students to listen and number the works as they hear them. (2) Check the answer and ask what the news is about. 1. Students can have a preliminary understanding of the news about space travel. 2. To practice the sentence patterns and feel the character's emotion
Activity 3: Listen and circle (1) Ask students to listen again and circle the correct answer. The spaceship has/hasn’t reached Mars after eight months. The spaceship has/ hasn’t sent back messages. Scientists have/haven’t found life on Mars. T: Let’s listen and get some information about the space trip. (2) After listening, guide students to use the structure “Have/has ….” “Yes, …/No, …” to check the answer with their partners. (3) Guide students to summarize what aspects(detail) the news talks about) T: How does Lingling feel about the space trip S: interested, excited …
Activity 1: Listen and choose Get the main idea of the conversation 1. What school project have Daming and Tony got A. Making a model spaceship B. Collecting the latest news C. Finding life on Mars 2. What’s the latest news about A. The astronauts on the planet B. The space trip to Mars C. The spaceship to the moon 1. To Summarize the general idea of the conversation by extensive listening. 2. To obtain and sort out key information about the school project, laying the groundwork for subsequent listening by intensive listening.
Activity 2: Listen and complete T: Why has no one been to Mars yet (Ask students to listen to a clip and answer) T: How will scientists do Through the completion of the table, students are guided to sort out the details of the news and understand the ideographic function of the present perfect tense in the context: the influence of past actions on the present results.
Step 4: Read and think Activity 1: Thinking Ask students to read the conversation aloud by themselves and think the following questions: ①Why will scientists keep exploring ②How did Daming’s feeling change ③What may Daming do next 1.Through the analysis of scientists' behavior, students are able to understand the space spirit of continuous exploration. 2. By speculating on Daming's emotional changes and next actions, students can experience the expression of emotions.
Activity 2: Summary Summarize how to talk about space travel with others. Through the structured sorting of the content of the conversation, it helps students to transfer knowledge.
Step 5: Pair work Show the latest news and create a situation: T: If you were Daming, you had searched for some information about China’s space travel. Now you are going to share it with Tony. Please work in pairs and make a dialogue to ask and answer questions about space travel. Guide students to work in pairs and make a dialogue according to the checklist. Through the creation of simulated situations, students are guided to cooperate and exchange the information of China’s space news, while internalizing new knowledge, and implementing the theme.
Step 6: Homework Must-do 1. Practice the conversation in Activity 3 on Page 18 2. Practice the dialogue with your partner after class. Can-do Search for information online about space and make a short video to introduce. Assign different kinds of homework to satisfy different students’ learning needs.
