1.意群
1.根据意群符号“/”的提示朗读下面短文。
People all over the world /shake hands / for many different reasons. / Why do we shake hands / A long time ago, /most people carried knives or guns./
When people did not want to fight,/ they showed their empty hands. / Later, / hand-shaking became a sign of peace.
意群划分原则
1.一个词组或短语可被划分为一个意群:
(1)名词词组。如:a boy(冠词+名词);some people(不定代词+名词);that bag(指示代词+名词);my friend Tom(名词+名词);green grass(形容词+名词);developing countries(分词+名词);thirty students(数词+名词)。
(2)介词短语。如:on the desk;in the morning.
(3)副词短语。如:again and again; first of all.
(4)副词+介词短语。如:early in the morning; late in the 20th century.
(5)副词+动词短语;动词+副词短语。如:quite understand; look carefully.
(6)固定的动词词组。如:have a rest; have lunch.
(7)系动词+表语。如:be at home;turn red.
2.一个句子可被划分为若干个意群:
(1)主语+谓语的简单句可被划分为一个意群。如:
He swims.
She walks fast.
(2)主语+谓语+宾语的简单句可被划分为一个意群。如:
I like swimming.
He bought some apples.
(3)并列句中的各个分句均可作为一个意群。如:
She likes English,/ but he doesn't.
He opened the door,/ and went into the room.
(4)复合句中的从句和主句均可作为一个意群。如:
He didn't go to school / because he had a cold.
They asked me/when I finished my homework.
