By the end of the lesson, students will be able to make a leaflet for a trip to a place of interest to help others make summer holiday plan. This will be achieved by: 1. talking about different ways to spend the summer holiday to make a good plan of free time. 2. introducing a place of interest, including location, feature, activities, etc. 3. using object clauses with with that to express ideas about a trip. 4. summarizing something special in a trip in terms of when to go, how long to stay and how many people in a group. 5. making a leaflet for a trip to a place of interest and trying to make it more beautiful with pictures
教学内容
教学重点: 1. Summarize the information about a place of interest, including location, feature, activities, etc.
2.Make an informative and beautiful leaflet to attract others.
教学难点: 1. Use object clauses to express their ideas about a trip properly. 2. Make an informative and beautiful leaflet to attract others.
教学过程
Step 1:Lead-in T: Hello students. Today we will go on our learning: Module Eight Unit Three language in use. Please look at the calendar. It’s June the twenty ninth. I know it's a big day for you. Do you know why S:... T: Yes. It's the date of your final exam. And it means the beginning of your summer holiday. So what are your plans for your summer holiday S:... T: Oh good. I also like taking a trip. And I can't wait to take a trip with my family after the summer holiday begins. S:... T: Yes I also think it's also a good idea to take some courses because summer vacation is also a good time to make progress in study. It seems that you have many plans and according to a study, going on a trip and joining in a club are the first two most popular ideas for summer holiday for students. And different people can join the different clubs according to their hobbies. Now read and match the people with the best clubs for them. T: Who has got the answers. It is Lake District National Park. Have you ever heard of it S: T: It doesn't matter. Now let's enjoy a small video about it. T: Now, according to the video and the picture, what do you think of the Lake District National Park You can give me your answer like this: I think that /I guess that... S: T: Oh, beautiful sentence. It's so quiet and beautiful that you want to visit it one day. And you please. S: T: You think it's one of the most famous places in England. I agree with you. Now turn to Page72, read the passage about Lake District National Park and try to finish the table about it. T: OK I think most of you have finished. You can check your answers in pairs. T: We have got to know about the biggest national park in England, and our English friend Anna wants to know more about China by taking a trip to a place of interest. Let's read the task and find out what to do, to whom and why. (设计意图:通过展示本节课的任务,让学生明确本节课的重点是为他人制作关于某个旅游景点的旅游宣传单。让学生清楚本节课的任务,并且带着明确的任务目的继续本节课的课堂。) Activity4: Practice. T: But how to make a leaflet. Now let's take a place of interest as an example. It is one of the most famous places of interest in China. Please look at the picture and guess what it is. S:... T: Yes it is the most famous place of interest in Zhejiang --- West Lake. Step One: discuss in groups and complete the table about the introduction of West Lake, including location, feature and activities. It’s your time. Five minutes. S:... T: I would like to invite some of you to give me your answers. S:... (设计意图:前面活动,学生学习了从四个方面来描述一个旅行假期,也通过对Lake District National Park的阅读完成相应的填空,这个活动是对前面知识点很好的一个操练。学生根据课前的一些查找,完成关于West lake的基本介绍。这是确定旅游目的地的依据,也是决定能否吸引读者的关键因素。它是制作leaflet的第一步,也是制作leaflet的最关键的一步。) Activity4: leaflet presentation. T: So finally we got the introduction of West Lake.And it is the most important part of the trip leaflet of West Lake. And what else should we should we write in the leaflet. S:... T:Yes. You are so clever. You got my point. We should also talk about trip information, just as we learned when to go, how long to stay and how many people in a group. Anything else We want other people to come to visit the place, so we should add the invitation. Right S:... T: This is the part about invitation and the trip information. Now read it and underline the invitation and circle the trip information. S:... Part one: the introduction of the places of interest. Part two: the invitation and the trip information. Part three: pictures or paintings. (设计意图:这是整节课里最核心的活动。在刚才列举西湖的位置、特点、活动的基础上,把对名胜的基本介绍做成了旅游宣传单的第一部分。然后老师通过层层深入引导学生在旅游宣传当中还需要涉及到旅行信息以及对别人的邀请。在这之后,老师又提醒学生可以通过添加图片或画画来美化旅游宣传单。整个活动条理清晰,一环扣一环,帮助学生理清了旅游宣传单的应当涉及的内容以及制造旅游宣传单的顺序,别接下来的迁移做好了充分的准备。) Step 4:leaflet making. You must finish your leaflet and polish it. And you can choose to share your leaflet with others and give points to each other. (设计意图:因为旅游宣传单的内容之一是对名胜的介绍。有些学生在课堂上可能完成得不够理想。今天的作业可以让学生在课后使用更多的工具来完善旅行宣传单,并帮助学生巩固了今天的知识。今天的作业也可以让学生在英语学习过程当中,通过享受他们自己的作品来获得成就感,提升对英语学习的兴趣。)
