Lead-in. Enjoy a song Trouble is a friend. Pre-listening. Activity 1 Free talk. Do you have trouble with your friends How do you solve it Listening. Activity 2 Listen and choose. What is Lingling’s problem Activity 3 Listen and fill. How does the problem develop Activity 4 Read and think. How does Helpline try to understand Lingling’s problem What do you think of Helpline Activity 5 Listen and read. Imitate and analyze the speaking strategies Helpline uses. Activity 6 Listen and fill. How to solve the problem Post-listening. Activity 7 Review. Review how to ask for help and offer advice. Speaking. Activity 8 Work in pairs. One student shares a problem. The other acts as Helpline to offer advice. Make assessment according to the checklist given. Activity 9 Discuss in groups. Why do we try our best to solve the problems with our friends What’s our attitudes towards having problems with friends Homework. Must-do: Retell the conversation. Choose-to-do: Interview one of your classmates. Talk about their problems w with their friends.
