You eat to get nutrients and energy. Do you know how your body uses the food you eat
Can you imagine what happens to the food
Your body cannot use the food you eat directly. You must change the form of the food so your body can use it. First, you cut, tear and grind(磨碎) the food with your teeth. In your mouth, some liquid called saliva(唾液) helps make the food soft. Your tongue then pushes the food to the back of your mouth so you can swallow(咽下) it. When you swallow the food, it goes down into your stomach through a tube called oesophagus(食道).
In your stomach, there are some juices to help make the food thick and mushy. The thick and mushy form of food then goes to your intestines(肠). Your body uses some of it. You let off what your body does not use when you go to the toilet.
