What challenges did your parents and grandparents meet when they were teenagers

A student’s report:
When my mother was a teenager, one of the challenges she faced was that she was eager to learn to play the piano but my grandparents couldn’t afford it at that time. She was quite upset.
However, when she talked about this with her best friend Emily, Emily suggested that my mom take the piano lesson with her, so that my mom could also learn how to play the piano. My mom was so happy and she has been always grateful to Emily since then.

A student’s retelling:
Adam thought that going from junior high school to senior high school was a really big challenge, and he was confused at first. He was careful about choosing the suitable courses, and the school adviser helped him choose suitable ones. Besides, he found it difficult to make the school football team. He felt unhappy when he failed to join the team, but he would find a way to improve in order to make the team next year. What’s more, he also found it a challenge to keep up with the other students in his advanced course and get used to all the homework. He felt a bit worried but still happy, and he was confident about his future. He would try to study harder and get used to being responsible for a lot more.

Critical thinking
Group discussion: Do you face similar challenges What
other challenges are you facing How do you deal with
them
A student’s report:
I face similar challenges as Adam. Besides, I am also facing a challenge about how to balance the time spent in study and student clubs. I have joined the Students’ Union in our school, and I really like being part of it, since I have the sense of fulfilling when I am working. But at the same time, I find that I don’t have much time reviewing the knowledge I learn every day, because the work in the Students’ Union takes up a lot of time. Therefore, I turn to my teacher for help. She suggests that I make a time arrangement every day, and I should improve my efficiency so that I can finish more tasks. I have been trying to improve myself, and I’m glad that I am making progress.
