二轮复习专题写作——遣词造句说课稿
—— Polish your writing
Good afternoon, everyone! It's my great honor to stand here to share my lesson with you.The content of my lesson is how to polish your writing by improving your words and sentences. My representation consists of four parts. Part one: Analysis of the new curriculum and students; part two: Learning objectives; part three: Teaching procedures; part four: Teaching reflection.
To begin with, I would like to say something about the basic principles. I mainly consulted the two books presented here and they have a great influence on my lesson design. And here I selected some key points:1.subject core competencies; 2. the view of English learning activities; 3. the practical suggestions on the cultivation of subject core competencies. Based on this theories, our teachers should involve the orientation of core competence, shift in teaching and learning, and most importantly, the evolution in assessment.
And what about my students I think my students are very clever and hardworking. Before the class, the students have the basic English language skills, and they have the vague ideas about writing a good composition. But after the class, the students are going to know the key aspects of a good writing, how to improve their writing by changing words and sentences and how to discuss and polish their writing. This kind of change is guaranteed by the English learning activities.
So based on this analysis, I set my learning objectives as follows: for language ability, the students are able to master some writing skills to make the competition better; for thinking quality, the students are able to develop the ability of critical and creative thinking; for culture awareness, the students are able to develop an attitude to pursuing perfection; for learning ability, they are able to put what we have learned into practice. Among the four learning objectives, two are set as important points and difficult points. In this lesson, the most important point is to master some writing skills to make the composition better. And the difficult point is to put what we have learned into practice.
So next comes to my teaching procedures. In order to achieve my learning objectives, in this lesson I employ the teaching approaches, like communicative teaching method, task-based language teaching, situational teaching method. And in order to embody the activity-based approach, I have designed a series of learning activities flowing from learning and comprehension, application and practice to transferring and innovation. These activities can enhance students’ language ability. We will begin this lesson with a conversation between a student and her teacher. The girl finds it hard to get high marks in her English writing. So our main task is to help the girl polish her English writing. This conversation can stimulate the students’ interest in English learning. Then by asking a question:What accounts for a good writing , I help the students to establish a clear concept of a good writing. Next I will show the girl’s writing to our students and invite others to discuss and comment it. This is a natural cultivation of thinking ability. By doing so, I think the students will enjoy the freedom to challenge and the duty to offer better suggestions.Students are encouraged to change simple words to advanced words, and add the adverbs and transitional words in their writing practice. This activity can strengthen their English language ability.Besides, these writing tips can make their writing more powerful and logical. At last, encourage them to change the following sentences with the help of golden sentences like attributive sentences, inverted sentences, emphatic sentences. The golden sentences will make the writing more attractive and advanced. Now it’s time for the students to make a brief summary by using a mind map. This activity can cultivate the students’ creative thinking. At the end of the class, students are required to polish the writing by what we have learned. This is also the difficult point in this lesson. So as you can see, I always practice the view of English learning activities in my lesson design.
Here is my teaching reflection. First, from this lesson, I realize that English learning is to foster virtue through education. Second, as teachers, we should provide necessary activities for students to facilitate effective learning. Third, teaching is not to teach, but to make learning happen. The students can learn more when they learn actively.
That’s all. Thanks for your attention and patience.
