教材分析
本单元教材以“Why do you like…?”为中心话题,围绕着询问及描述动物而展开。通过本单元目标语言的学习,学生学会询问他人喜欢的动物及原因。在教学活动中,师生间的互动促进了学生之间和师生之间的情感交流,增进了彼此的友谊。Section A 要求学生掌握有关动物名称有关国家的名词及有关品质的形容词;学会描述动物的性格及特点,学会表达喜欢某类动物及说明喜欢的原因,学会并熟练运用why/because引导的句子。 Section B 安排了听、说、读、写的活动,其中学习关于“save elephants”的文章,不仅增加了学生的阅读量,让学生了解到大象的生存现状,也培养了学生保护动物的意识
学情分析
在之前的学习中,学生已经学过由why, what, where 引导的特殊疑问句句型,具有了学习本单元知识的认知前提。但需要创设一定情境。同时缺少对信息进行信息概括和整合的能力。七年级学生已有良好的记忆力和模仿力,需要多进行鼓励和引导,对于动物,学生是有一定情感基础的,这有利于本单元知识的教学和学生学习兴趣的培养。
教学目标
语言能力:能够在参观动物园等真实情境中正确使用why, what和 where 引导的特殊疑问句及其答语和表示性质和品质的形容词,以听说读看写等方式询问和描述各种常见动物,表达自己对动物的喜好; 学习能力:通过谈论动物,激发对英语语言学习的兴趣;通过听、说、读、写等活动形成良好的学习习惯,提高学习效率;能够参与结对活动、小组活动时,能积极与他人合作,相互帮助,共同完成学习任务体验在“做”中使用目标语言,能通过各种方式搜集有关动物的信息和资料。 思维品质 :学会与人探讨、交流和表达自我观点和看法,进行合理推测,辩证地、创新性地表达个人看法,实现思维能力的迁移。

【What】本课对话为中学生日常对话,内容围绕喜爱的动物展开。同学询问最爱的动物,解释原因和说明来源国家。对话采用了谈论自家养宠物的场景,学生纷纷展示自我的才艺,并谈论彼此养的宠物及原因。 【Why】学生们在谈论喜爱动物的对话可以帮助学生敢于展示自己的能力与兴趣,缓解学习压力,学生在学习之余可以自由谈论自己的兴趣爱好。与此同时,学校可以促进学生全方面发展,丰富班级文化。 【How】本课的对话是学生谈论养宠物的对话,主要内容为询问对方喜欢说明动物,养说明宠物并说明原因和国家。对话可以分为两个类型:类型一是谈论喜爱的动物;类型二是谈论家有的宠物。对话包含了动物的主题词汇,如panda,koala,lion 等,还有描述性形容词、表达喜欢的原因、介绍动物的来源国家等语言表达,如 “let’s go to...” “Why do you like them ” “Because...” 等。对话使用一般现在时表达自己喜欢动物的原因及回答。
