(2024·河北·二模)Anytime I travel on my bicycle across the country, I’m always amazed by how kind people can be to strangers.
One night, my friends and I were camping in a town in Missouri. There was a severe storm and we were getting 46 . A complete stranger came by to 47 us that there were tornadoes(龙卷风)heading our way. The stranger invited us to his home. We were surprised by his 48 for our safety. Later we learned that there had been a lightening strike near the place where we had camped and several cattle had been 49
Fortunately, we spent the night in a nice dry home. We were 50 given the opportunity to take a shower. The next morning we had breakfast with the family and 51 contact information. In a way we felt like the family had become a part of our journey. This was one of the most heartwarming 52 of my life because this family had nothing to 53 by being so kind to us. We were 54 not the type they would usually 55 but they treated us with respect and kindness.
The kindness of a stranger always 56 my faith in humanity. Whatever the person 57 always comes with no strings attached and that’s the most 58 part.
That family 59 us so much that during the rest of the trip, we 60 others out every chance we got. We even bought food with our busking(街头卖艺) tips for the homeless. It’s always heartwarming when giving feels as good as receiving.

(2024·浙江绍兴·二模)I was interested in volunteering at a hospital because both of my parents work in hospitals. I wanted to see what the 61 was after hearing them talk about it. To be more 62 , I wanted to work at the VA — Veterans (老兵) Affairs hospital — in Palo Alto because the 63 of VA is “to serve those who served” and I really 64 this very idea.
To my greatest joy, I was 65 the VA program, and throughout this summer break I’ve spent around 110 hours 66 at VA Palo Alto in different departments. To be honest, I had never at all felt more welcomed and 67 in every department I went to. After some initial experiences, I 68 to work in the Office of Information Technology (OIT) since I am interested in computers, and I wanted to see how they are used in a hospital setting.
My overall experience of volunteering at VA can be 69 into the words of “eye-opening and 70 .” Throughout my whole life I have been 71 to health care, from both my parents being physicians and my health problems, but I have never 72 been on the other side of the glass, so to speak. What I 73 most about my experience was the 74 to see what it’s like to help people. I want to continue volunteering at VA because I believe there is no other experience that can be as 75 as working in a hospital that treats Veterans.
