教材分析 The central topic of this unit is "the languages of the World". Students' understanding of different languages and cultures is strengthened by exploring this topic. Talk about reasons why people study a foreign language. The topic belongs to the context of the subject - man and self. The sub-topics are life and learning - willing to learn, good at learning, lifelong learning. Through this lesson, students will get to know the general situation of the world language, and talk about their choices and reasons for language learning. Languages around the world are very popular in the world. In the first part, you can learn a foreign language. In the second part, you can learn a foreign language because it helps you find a job and communicate with your family and friends.
学情分析 Students’ oral expression ability is not good, and their ability to acquire listening information is a little short, so they need to learn more listening skills and get a lot of oral exercise. In addition, they have little knowledge of world languages and lack sufficient motivation for foreign language learning.
教学目标 Language ability Talk about the languages they want to learn and tell the reasons in English. Acquire the needed information while listening.
Learning ability Be able to take short-hand notes of numbers.
Cultural awareness Get familiar with countries and their languages, especially the six official languages of the United Nations (UN).
Thinking qualities Have a better understanding of the pronouns and what the pronouns refer to in listening.

Read the three students’ opinions on the languages they want to learn and their reasons. 3. Study some useful structures to help with the oral presentation. 4. Express the reason why you want to choose to learn one foreign language with the sentence pattern: The reason why I want to choose to learn ______ is that ______. 5.Oral presentation from each group.Activity4. 1.Ask students to brainstorm the question: why do we need to learn a foreign language 2.
