With much excitement, my family paid a visit to one of the most famous scenic spots in Shanxi – Pingyao today.
We started our journey by appreciating a well-known live performance of a touching story directed by Wang Chaoge, which left us with a deep impression. Then we left for the second scenic spot, the Ancient City of Pingyao. As a World Cultural Heritage Site, it dates back over 2,700 years and many traditions are still kept by the people there. Wandering along the main street, admiring a variety of handicrafts in shops and tasting delicious local foods, we were amazed to discover how attractive the small city was.
Exhausted as we were, our trip to Pingyao was really unforgettable!
