Activity1 (3mins)
The purpose is to arouses the students interest in the text and naturally lead them learn about the news.
The purpose is to make the students have a general understanding of the news report.
Activity2 Read for basic information (7mins)
Activity3 Read for the structure and language features (8mins)
The purpose is to make students have a better understanding of the structure.A mind map is an effective way to make the students have a clear clue of what they are reading.
Activity4 Preparations for writing (5mins)
Let students have a discussion about the influences and measures,then draw a mind map about the positive and negative of the rescue work.
The purpose of this activity is to help the students build some related vocabularies and prepare for writing.
Write a summary according to discussion.Students will exchange drafts. Use the checklist to give feedback on their partner’s drafts.
