Step 1: Lead-in
Make a daily report by a student with a similar topic and introduce some new words.
Step 2: Part A
1. Pre-listening
1) Read a poster about Chinese New Year Party and list different activities.
2) Guess what time each activity may start at.
3) Use a pencil to write their guesses down.
2. While-listening
1. Listen to the recording of A1 and check their guesses about the time.
2. Listen to the second part of the radio program and write the names of the streets .
3. Post-listening
1) Describe the time and place for each activity in complete sentences.
2) Complete the notes of A3 without looking back.
3) Read A3 aloud.
Step 3: Part B
1. Task-based listening
Listen to Part B, take notes and answer three questions about an activity at Millie’s school.
2. Making dialogues
1)Read the dialogue in pairs and say it out quickly.
2) Watch a dialogue of students’ activity in Shuren.
3) Introduce different special days/weeks/festivals in Shuren.
Step 4: Interview
1. Ask the students to work in groups to introduce one of the special days/weeks/festivals in Shuren to friends from other school.
2. Report the interview in a dialogue.
Step 5: Conclusion
Encourage the students to find more about the cultures of different festivals.
