概 要 写 作
本单元的写作任务是概要写作。概要写作应注意以下几点：
1.细读每段文章，找主题句，圈关键词，辨别主次信息
在阅读原文时，找到每段的主题句或中心句，圈出重点信息词汇，分清主要信息和次要信息，如修饰成分、细节内容、举例说明等为次要信息。
2.用自己的语言，写出该段要点
概要写作要求用自己的语言准确地转述文章的要点，因此，不能整句抄原文，可以采用以下表达方式：
（1）替换法：同义词替换，单词替换短语，短语替换句子等；
（2）转换法：词性转换，句式转换，语态转换等；
（3）合并法：把几个信息合并在一个句子中，将原文多个简单句整合成一个句子等。
3.选用恰当的衔接词（组），把每段要点串联成篇
概要写作要求考生有效地使用语句间的连接词（组），使短文逻辑连贯、衔接自然、结构紧凑。

The familiar yellow school bus is the largest system of mass transportation in the US and every school day it transports roughly 25 million young people to school and home again. Meanwhile, it is the safest method for getting kids to and from school, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration （NHTSA）.Children are 70 times more likely to arrive at school safely on the school bus than if they had traveled to school walking themselves or riding with friends.
These school buses meet more of the nation's motor vehicle safety standards than any other vehicle on the road. Also, several new technologies available today are making school buses even safer, such as video cameras on the inside and outside, GPS tracking and collision-avoidance systems. Other safety tools on school buses are high seat backs, closely spaced seats and energy-absorbing seating.
But even the safety of school buses would not completely sum up why children are safer when taking the big, yellow bus. The buses are only as safe as the professional men and women who drive them. All drivers must obtain a Class B or C Commercial Driver's License（CDL）.They are randomly tested for alcohol and drugs, usually have their driving records checked, and are given the same review for criminal history as teachers and other employees who have contact with students. In order to serve as a school bus driver, most applicants are required to successfully complete a training course, along with instruction in the classroom and behind the wheel.
School buses are friendly to the environment, not only because each bus replaces 36-passenger cars that would, but for the buses, be on the road taking and picking up school children. Additionally, school buses use alternative green fuels like natural gas, and electric power.
Todd Monteferrario, President of the National School Transportation Association,
said parents should remember that the safest and smartest choice is to put their
children on the big yellow bus when they can.

For the past decade，there have been heated debates about whether our planet is heating up and whose fault it is. Many scientists，politicians，journalists，and famous entertainers are all saying that our planet is in trouble and that human beings are the cause. In 1997，a group of scientists' ideas were used to write the Kyoto Protocol（《京都议定书》）， an agreement that explained our role in the earth's changing atmosphere and set international limits for gas emissions from 2008 to 2012.Some countries have decided to continue these reductions until 2020.
At the same time，a few governments and some scientists argue that there is no evidence that humans are causing recent changes in climate and weather. So， is there a link between humans and climate change or not？To reach an educated opinion，it is important to think about the people who make scientific claims and what their purpose may be. For example，some say the scientists who warn about global warming are trying to scare people in order to get attention and funding for their research. And some of them get some money from companies that produce these fossil fuels. For example，one of the world's biggest oil companies，has spent millions of dollars to support the groups that discredit the idea of global warming.
Clearly， scientific information can be affected by the interests of individual scientists. When we hear reports on climate change，we must use good judgment and ask ourselves where the facts are coming from. We must interpret the research，make informed decisions，and, most importantly，participate in the debate.

My gentleness and good behaviour had gained so far on the emperor and his court，and indeed upon the army and people in general，that I began to conceive hopes of getting my liberty in a short time. I took all possible methods to cultivate this favourable disposition. The natives came，by degrees，to be less apprehensive of any danger from me. I would sometimes lie down，and let five or six of them dance on my hand；and at last the boys and girls would venture to come and play at hide-and-seek① in my hair. I had now made a good progress in understanding and
speaking the language. The emperor had a mind one day to entertain me with several of the country shows，wherein they exceed all nations I have known，both for dexterity and magnificence. I was diverted with none so much as that of the rope-dancers， performed upon a slender white thread，extended about two feet，and twelve inches from the ground. Upon which I shall desire liberty， with the reader's patience， to enlarge a little.
This diversion② is only practised by those persons who are candidates for great employments，and high favour at court. They are trained in this art from their youth，and are not always of noble birth，or liberal education. When a great office is vacant③，either by death or disgrace （which often happens，） five or six of those candidates petition the emperor to entertain his majesty and the court with a dance on the rope； and whoever jumps the highest，without falling，succeeds in the office. Very often the chief ministers themselves are commanded to show their skill， and to convince the emperor that they have not lost their faculty. Flimnap，the treasurer④，is allowed to cut a caper on the straight rope，at least an inch higher than any other
lord in the whole empire. I have seen him do the summerset several times together，upon a trencher fixed on a rope which is no thicker than a common packthread in England. My friend Reldresal，principal secretary for private affairs， is，in my opinion，if I am not partial，the second after the treasurer；the rest of the great officers are much upon a par.

只有那些正在候补重要职位或者希望获得朝廷恩宠的人,才有资格表演这种技艺。为了表演这种技艺,他们从小就开始接受训练。这些人并非都是贵族出身,也不一定受过良好教育。每当有重要官职空缺,不论是原官辞世还是失宠撤职(这种事常常发生),就会有五六位候补人员呈请皇帝准许他们给皇帝陛下及朝廷百官表演一次绳上跳舞,谁跳得最高,并且不掉下来,谁就接任这个职位。此外大官们也常常奉命表演这种技艺,以使皇帝相信他们并未忘却自己的本领。在拉直的绳上跳舞,财政大臣福林纳浦跳得比国内任何一位大臣至少要高出一英寸。我曾看到,在一只固定在绳子上的木盘里,他一连翻了好几个跟头,那根绳子只有英国常见的包扎绳那么细。要我不偏袒地说,在我看来,我的朋友内务大臣瑞尔德里沙的本领仅次于财政大臣,至于其余大臣,本领都在伯仲之间。
