I walked into the Huddle House
Restaurant in Brunswick, Georgia and sat down at the table. I picked up the
menu and was to order something for breakfast.
"Excuse me," suddenly a soft
voice came into my ear.
I looked up and 6 a nice-looking woman standing before me.
"Is your name Roger " 7 asked.
"Yes, " I answered, feeling
rather confused(困惑的) as I had never seen her before.
"My name's Barbara and my 8 is Tony," she said, pointing to a
middle-aged man sitting alone at the table by the window. He was 9 and weak.
"Tony White, from Landon School in
Jacksonville, Florida." She added.
I looked at that man for a few seconds 10 I didn't recognize(认识) him.
"I'm really sorry. The name doesn't

She walked back, began 11 with her husband and once in a while I saw her

"I'm…I'm er…" I didn't know 19 to say to him.

Dear Nina,
Thanks for your e-mail. Yes, I am in Japan now.
Food can be very expensive in Japan. We learned this is the first time we went to get some food. As soon as we reached Osaka(大阪), we decided to look for a Japanese restaurant near the airport. We wanted to eat noodles, and we found a nice restaurant. The menu was easy to read because it was written in Japanese and English, with pictures of the food. However, I was shocked when I saw the prices. On the first page of the menu there were dishes for 8,000 yen and 12,000 yen. I even saw a dish for 23,000 yen. In other words, these dishes cost $80, $120, and $230. Luckily, the noodles we ordered were only 800 yen.
Prices for food can be high here, but they don't have to be. We soon realized that there was a lot of excellent food in Japan at good prices. Some restaurants that sell noodles can have nice meals for between five or ten dollars. We can also have a nice cup of coffee for $5, but it's also easy to find coffee or soft drinks at the train or subway stations for a little over $1.
Hope you are having a good time back home. By the way, how's my cat

Coming to the end of my assistantship(助手)in Barcelona, I start to think about the future.
It is seven months and a few days since I
arrived here and things have changed so much. When I first arrived in Terrassa,
I was excited but I didn't know how to start a new adventure(冒险)in a strange country. I found the first few days seemed so long,
trying to find a place to live, organizing my timetable with the schools,
meeting new people. After a couple of weeks, the excitement started to
disappear, however, and homesickness(思乡)started to set
in. It wasn't a powerful homesickness but enough to make me spend more than a
few nights thinking about family and friends back home, wondering if I should
be there with them.
All that started to change after meeting
some new friends and spending good time with them, practicing languages, eating
together and seeing new places as a group. I think that we should never forget
how important it is to have good people in your life, because they can make
such a difference.
Coming back to Terrassa after visiting home
for Christmas felt like returning to a second home. Things got even busier and
more people came into my life; new friends, romance and a whole lot of good
food flowed by in what seems to have been weeks, not months.
Now, looking forward, there are some
decisions to make. Should I return home to Scotland and move on with life there
or try to extend(延长)my time here
To travel and visit other places is one of
the most meaningful things you can do in life.
Experiencing other cultures, learning about
the world, it's such an important thing to do if you have the means.
What I have learned from my experience so
far is to travel and try new things whenever you get the chance. You may find somewhere
you always want to be.

A.He felt nervous and worried. B.He felt excited but nervous.

A.The writer's family stayed with him in Barcelona.
B.The writer has never been back to his hometown.
C.The writer began to feel homesick after a few weeks.
D.The writer made new friends soon after he went to Barcelona.
29.What is the writer unsure about
A.Where to spend his future life.
B.How to enjoy his life in Terrassa.
C.What to do to extend his time in Terrassa.
D.Whom to celebrate Christmas with.
30.What has the writer learned from his experience
A.Travelling alone is good for people.
B.Having a clear idea of oneself is important.
C.Learning about the world makes the world more colorful.
D.Keeping an open mind to new things is very important.
