1. before和ago的用法: 都能表示在一段时间以前.before 有时单独使用(即不连用具体时间),泛指一般意义的“以前”,如: There was no gym in my old school before. 但ago一般不单独使用。而是:一段时间+ago, 如: three years ago 三年前
2. 描述某人过去到现在的变化, 可以用一下句型: Before, 主语+was/were+形容词。 Now, 主语+am/is/are+形容词+其他.
如: Before, I was short and fat. Now, I’m tall and thin.

新课标 第一部分 单元教学设计总思路
学情分析
本本单元是人教版英语(三年级起点)六年级下册第四单元,本单元学习的主题是“Then and now”。本单元的学习主题是谈论过去和现在的变化,学生学习、理解和运用一最过去时、 一般现在时和一般将来时三种时态描述事物和人物的变化。本单元通过不同的场景,引导学生感受变化无处不在,感受自身的变化,感受社会的变化。引导人要积极应对变化,享更变化。 本单元内容的教学对象是六年级学生,他们已经具备一定的听、说、读、写能力。经过三年多的英语学习,他们在课堂上基本能够听懂老师的提问,能够根据图片提示获取关键信息,能进行简单的对话表达。六年级的学生已经掌握并能灵活使用大量动作词组、形容词,他们在前两单元已经接触过比较级、一般过去式的用法,并能有意识从多个维度去描述学校、自己或者身边的人。但是学生的词汇量有限,对于六年级的学生来说,提出保护地球的建议存在一定的难度,而本单元的重点则是引导学生通过事物、人物的今昔对比,呈现不同的变化。引导学生积极看待自己以及身边的变化,从而认识自我、完善自我以及丰富自我,了解世界的变化,为守护地球家园做力所能及的事情。
二、单元整体设计思路

语篇研读(附图)
本节课是对话篇, 本课时的主题意义是通过通过Chen Jie, John去拜访Mike,在Mike家看到老照片展开对话学习。他们围绕照片谈论自己的变化,Mike以前比较内向,但是现在变得开朗了许多,John 分享自己以前比较矮,不会骑自行车,现在每天都骑,从而激发学生在真实的语言情境中来实际应用所学词汇和句型,检验学生对核心词句的掌握。让学生感知本节课句型的语义及语用情景。引导学生学会正确看待自己的变化,同时也尊重他人的变化。
教学过程
