Grandpa: Wow, a library! There was no library in my old school.

Grandpa: There was only one small building on a hill.

Sarah: Me too. One day I’m going to visit the moon.

Mike: Right. Before，I was quiet. Now, I’m very active in class. How about you？

句型结构
1.表达( 某地) 以前没有某物的句型：
There was no library in my old school.我以前的学校里没有图书馆。
There were no computers or Internet in my time.
我那时候没有电脑也没有互联网。
用法：这是用来描述以前没有某物的句型。是There be 句型的一般过去时的否定形式。
句型结构：There was/were no + 某物+ in + 某地+ 某时.
易错点
当某物是可数名词单数或不可数名词时，be 动
词用was，was 是is 的过去式。
当某物为可数名词复数时用were，were 是are
的过去式。
e.g.There was no bird in the tree just now.
There were no birds in the tree just now.
刚才树上没有鸟。

2.请求对方讲述关于某方面的信息的句型：
Tell us about your school, please.
请给我们讲讲您的学校吧。
解析：此句用于请求某人讲述关于某方面的信息，是一个祈使句。about 是介词，意为“关于”，后接想要知道的信息。
句型结构：Tell + sb. + about + 其他.
祈使句表示请求、命令、叮嘱、邀请、劝告等，朗读的时候一般用降调。其否定形式是在谓语动词前加Don't。

(1) Tell us about your daily life.
给我们讲一讲你的日常生活吧。
(2) Don't be late for school.
上学不要迟到。

3.询问对方如何知道某事的句型及答语：
—How do you know that 你怎么知道的？
—I looked it up on the Internet. 我在互联网上查的。
解析:问句用于询问对方是如何知道某事的，how 意为“怎样，如何”，用来询问方式，that 用于指代上文中提到的事情。回答时可以直接说明知道的方式或途径。
句型结构：How + 助动词+ 主语+ 动词原形+ 其他
易错点
(1) 助动词do 的形式要根据主语的人称和数来确
定。当主语为第三人称单数时，助动词要用does
(2) look up 意为“查阅”，宾语是代词时， 一
定要放在中间，如: look it up
e.g.—How do you know that 你怎么知道的？
—My teacher told me about that. 我老师告诉我的。

4 描述某人过去和现在的不同的句型：
Before, I was quiet. Now, I’m very active in class.
以前我很安静。现在我在课堂上很活跃。
I was short, so I couldn’t ride my bike well. Now, I go cycling every day.
以前我个子小，自行车骑得不好。现在我天天骑自行车。
句型结构
用法:此句型用于描述同一个人或事物现在与以前的变化。描述过去的
情况，要用一般过去时，描述现在的情况，要用一般现在时。
可以从以下几个方面进行描述：
(1) 外貌和性格方面：
Before, 主语+ was / were + 形容词. Now, 主语+ am / is /are + 形容词.
Before, I wasn't tall. I was quiet. Now, I am tall. I am active.
以前我不高，很安静。现在我很高，很活跃。
(2) 能力方面：
Before, 主语+ couldn't + 动词原形. Now, 主语+ can + 动词原形.
Before, I couldn't swim. Now, I can swim very well.
以前我不会游泳。现在我游得很好。
(3) 爱好方面：
Before, 主语+ didn't like + 名词／动词的-ing 形式. Now, 主语+like(s) +
名词 / 动词的-ing 形式.
Before, he didn't like reading books. Now, he likes reading books.
以前他不喜欢看书。现在他喜欢看书。
