What is predicative
Predicative is after a linking verb to describe the identity, characteristics and state of the subject.
A linking verb is a verb which links the subject of a clause and a complement.
e.g. He stayed calm when he was in danger.
I was a teacher fourteen years ago.
The idea sounds interesting.
A linking verb:

②五感：look, smell, taste, sound, feel
③四变：become, get, turn, go
④三保持：keep, stay, remain
⑤两似乎：seem, appear

As I wandered in the National Gallery, I was amazed to see all the paintings. I wondered at the skill of the artists, their use of colour and how they played with light and shade.
