Step I Class Opening
Greet the students and have a free talk with them.
Step II Review
Show some exercises on the PPT and then check the answers .
Step III New Concepts
Lead-in
Show the students two pictures about their beautiful school and some students’ school life.
Ask and Answer: Our school life includes four aspects. They are school buildings, people, subjects and activities. Can you say something about these aspects?
Present the pictures to help students to answer the question.
New words.
Read and repeat, make sure everyone can read the new words.
3. Listening
Play the audiotape for Lesson 13 (How Is School Life Going?) Play it once and ask the students just to listen.
Play the audiotape a second time and ask the students to answer the questions in part 1(Page 35).Then check the answers as a class.
4. Read and answer
Ask students to read the text twice and answer five questions in part 2. They can do groupwork to talk about the questions.
Then check the answers as a class.
5. Pair Work
Ask students to use their completed timetable to make up a dialogue following the example in the student book(page35,Part 4).
6. Language points
Explain the language points.
(1)How is … going? 意思是“……怎么样?”用来询问对方最近学习、工作、生活等状况。也可以直接说How is…?
(2)a little意为“一点儿”,后跟形容词或副词。
(3)start to do sth.=start doing sth.意为“开始做某事”。
(4)finish doing sth.做完某事
(5)have a sports meet 意为“举行运动会”,have表示“举行”
(6)twice a/an …意为“……两次”,表示时间的频度。
(7)win first place意为“获得(赢得)第一名”,与“win+比赛项目或竞赛项目”同义。
(8)be good at 的同意短语是do well in,意为“擅长”。
(9)all by oneself意为“某人自己,单独,独自”。myself表示“我自己”。
