e.g. A warm gentle wind is blowing from the east.
一阵温暖的微风自东方吹来。
wind常用作不可数名词，但可以用a＋修饰词＋wind来表示“一阵……的风”，修饰词可以是strong, high, light等，说明风的强度或力量。
e.g. There is a strong wind in Beijing. 北京的风很大。

one by one这个短语中，one为代词，代替单数的人或物，该短语常用于句末作状语。

类似结构的短语有：year by year一年一年地，day by day一天天，逐日，little by little逐渐地，step by step一步一步地。
year by year强调每年都有变化，渐变性。而year after year强调动作的重复性。
