教学目标
1.Students can master the new words and target language while reading, and try to use them correctly after reading; 2.Students can analyse the three parts of the speech, and try to understand the meaning of graduation.
教学内容
教学重点: 1.Master the new words and target language; 2.Develop students’ reading and writing skills.
教学难点: 1. To talk about special memories in the past and plans of the future; 2. To give a speech about graduation in front of the class.
教学过程
Step1 Warming-up Show students an invitation of graduation ceremony and tell them there are 3 activities. The first part is to take a graduation photo. The second part is to share something special in junior high school with their friends. The last part is to listen to the headmaster’s speech. Step2 Skimming Listen to the text to see what kind of writing it is. Who wrote it And who is it for Skimming: Read the passage again and match the main idea of each paragraph. Step3 Scanning: Read Para.1 and answer: 1. What were the students like in Grade 7 2. How have the students changed After that, encourage the students to think: Why did these changes happen Read Para.2 and answer: Who should the students thank and why After that, encourage the students to think: What can you do Then the teacher summarizes: Never fail to be thankful. Read Para.3 and answer: 1. What will senior high be like 2. How should the students deal with the future After that, the teacher summarizes the speech and encourage students to embrace the future. Step 4 After reading 1. Fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the words in the box. 2. Further think ① How do you feel about the speech ②What advice would you give to students who are just starting junior high school 3. Give a speech at the graduation ceremony to talk about your memories in junior high school and your plans in senior high school. Step5 Homework Must do: Underline the sentences you like in the passage. Tell your partner what they mean and why you like them. Choose to do: Give a speech to talk about your memories in junior high school and your plans in senior high school.
