I didn't like Del so much. He always called me the nickname "Germy," which meant "dirty," instead of my real name "Jamie." 我不太喜欢Del。他总是故意把我的名字"Jamie"喊成“Germy”(小邋遢)。
Besides, he was known as a trouble-maker in school. 此外，他在学校里是个有名的捣蛋鬼。

I started to feel sorry for him. 我开始为他感到难过。
Later that day, I learned what really happened. The kid was Del's little brother and he was crying because their mother fell ill and was sent to hospital. 那天晚些时候，我了解到真相。那个小孩是Del的弟弟，他哭泣是因为他们的妈妈生病了，被送往医院。
