教学设计
一、教学目标
1. 能够听、说、认、读单词、词组和短语:tomato, tomatoes, potato, potatoes, carrot, carrots, green beans, these, farm, long, big, sweet, sour, hot, delicious, yummy, juicy能够正确使用单词和短语描述蔬菜单词。
2. 能够在不同情景中听懂、读懂并朗读核心句型:What are these They are tomatoes/potatoes/green beans/onions/carrots. They are red and round/yellow and big/green and long/purple and round/orange and long. They are sour and sweet/ juicy/fresh/yummy/nice/delicious.来介绍农场中的蔬菜名称、颜色、大小、形状、味道等。
二、教学重难点
1. 教学重点
(1)学习有关蔬菜的单词及其正确读音如:tomato, tomatoes, potato, potatoes, carrot, carrots, green beans, onion, onions.
(2)学习介绍蔬菜名称的句型,如:What are these They are tomatoes. They are red and round. They are sour and sweet.
教学难点
(1)能够掌握 “these” 的正确读音,特别是 “th”在单词中的发音。掌握“tomato/potato”的复数变化形式,即:“tomatoes/potatoes”.
(2) 能够运用形容词准确描述蔬菜的颜色、形状、味道等。
(3)能够听懂并认读有关蔬菜的新单词:eggplants, broccoli, turnips, green peppers, zucchinis, cucumbers.

1. 教法:情境教学法、任务型教学法。
2. 学法:情境对话、四人小组合作探究。

教学过程
Step I Warming up
Sing a song (Vegetable songs).
Short speech: How to keep healthy
Greeting: Class begins! Good morning everyone. Welcome to my English class. Sit down, please.
Lead in: Continue this topic of the speech. Show the title: Unit 4 At the farm. Maybe some of you don’t like vegetables. But after learning this class, I believe you will love all kinds of vegetables.
(目的:歌曲热身烘托英语课堂气氛。课前演讲做铺垫,道出蔬菜有益健康。别出心裁的导入,激发学生学习动机。)
Step II Presentation
Let’s go to the farm.
T: Show a picture of vegetables and ask: Look, what are these
S: They are vegetables.
Teacher teaches the new word “vegetables” and lets students pay more attention to its pronunciation.
T: All kinds of vegetables are planted by farmers. Today, let’s go to Mr Yuan’s farm and enjoy this beautiful scene.
Teacher shows the evaluation.
T: Look, two baskets for your groups. If you do well in this class, you can put one kind of vegetable in your basket. Let me see: which group can get more vegetables after class OK (Ss: OK!)
T: Show a picture of a big farm and ask: Where is it
S: It’s a farm.
T: What is it like
S: It’s big and beautiful!
T: Look, who are they
S: They are John, Sarah and Mike.
T: So, let’s follow them and go to the farm!
Let’s learn (watch the video).
Let’s guess.
Teacher asks: What are they talking about
S: They are talking about the vegetables.
T: Do you remember these vegetables Let’s guess and say.They are red and round. They are like the apples. They are sour and sweet. What are these
S: They are tomatoes.
(Teacher shows sentences “What are these /They are tomatoes.” on the blackboard. Then, Teacher shows two different pronunciations of “tomatoes”. British English: tomatoes /a:/. & American English: tomatoes /ei/).
Teacher asks one student to read the sentence: They are yellow and big. We can make chips with them. They are so delicious. What are these
S: They are potatoes.
(Teacher shows words “ tomatoes/potatoes/carrots/green beans” on the blackboard and lets students pay more attention to their spellings and pronunciations.)
Let’s say.
Teacher shows the dialogue and lets students work in pairs to practise the main sentences.
T: (Mr Yuan): Welcome to my farm!
S2 (Sarah): Look at the green beans. They are so long!
S1: Yes, and the potatoes are big.
Let’s try. (Let students create new dialogues.)
S1: Look at the tomatoes. They are red and big.
S2: Yes, and the carrots are so long.
Let’s chant.
Ask and answer: Which kind of vegetable can make us cry
S: Onions.
T: Great! What are they like (What colour are they )
S: They are purple and round.
T: Yes.
T&Ss: They are hot but healthy (Read twice).
(目的:由单词到句型,强调语音语调。由句型到对话,重视核心句型的迁移运用。)
Step III Drill
Other vegetables at the farm.
Watch a video and know other vegetables.
Let’s learn new words of other vegetables (eggplants, broccoli, turnips, green pepper, zucchinis, cucumbers)
Ask and answer. (Emphasize the pronunciation.)
T: What are these
S: They are eggplants.
Let’s describe these vegetables.
(目的:在新知基础上拓展蔬菜词汇,丰富句型表达。结合生活实际,让学生继续巩固句型,学以致用。)
Step IV Practice
Design a happy farm.
Describe a farm.
T: Imagine, if we have a farm at school. We plant many kinds of vegetables in it, we take good care of them. We will get more fresh vegetables. Then, we can eat a lot of delicious food with these fresh vegetables. So, do you wanna design a happy farm in our school
Ss: Yes.
Design a happy farm.
T: At your farm, besides the vegetables, you can plant fruits as well.
Eg: This is our happy farm. We like apples. So we plant apples in the farm. They are red and round(外形). They are juicy(口感). These are eggplants. They are purple and long. They are delicious.
What a nice farm! We like it very much!
Show the happy farm.

Step V Make a summary
T: You did good job! Look at your baskets. Wow, your group gets more vegetables. Congratulations! Today, we visited Mr Yuan’s farm and have learned many words of many kinds of vegetables.
(Sublimation 情感升华) As we know, Vegetables are good for us. Please eat more vegetables and build a strong body.
(目的:通过本课学习,让学生做到不挑食,多次蔬菜有益健康。)
T: So much for today, look at our homework.
Read and recite the dialogue and try your best to make new dialogues with the key words and sentences.
Use key words and main sentences to describe your own farm.
