Step 1: Lead-in Activity 1: Free talk Guess what my problem is and ask Ss what problems they have. Step 2: Pre-reading Activity 1: Let’s Predict Predict:What is the main idea of the article Read the title and the picture to guess. Step 3: While-reading Activity 1:Let’s read and match Read quickly and match the main idea of each para. Activity 2: Scanning Read quickly and divide it into three parts. Activity 3: Careful-reading Read and answer. Analyze the meaning of the word: compete Read and fill in the blanks. Analyze the meaning of the word: typical,cut out. 3.Read and choose. Read and fill in the chart. Read and analyze the structure of opinion writing. Step 3: Post-reading Activity 1: Retell Activity 2: Read and analyze the writer’s opinion.
