Step1. Free talk
Greet the class as usual. Say, today we will learn 3a-3c of Section A in unit 7.
Have you previewed the new lesson
Play a short video (some students in our school are going to climb mountains).
Talk freely with the students and teach some new words: nature, take
in. include, force, freezing, thick
T: Last Friday, some of you didn't have classes in the afternoon, where did you go
S: We went mountain climbing
T: Did you enjoy the nature and take in fresh air
Ss: Yes.
T: I think what you bring with you include water, your hat, backpack and so on, right
Ss: Yes.
T: What was the weather like that day
Ss: Hot and sunny.
T: Do you like hot weather
T: I like winter best. The forces of nature are strong, sometimes the weather was freezing cold in winter. But I enjoy the thick snow.
Step2. Lead-in:
Show photos of Aron Ralston, and ask, do you remember who he is Invite a student to retell his story. And then say the following sentences, ask students to fill in the blanks with the new words. In such a hard condition(n.条件;状况),Aron succeeded(v.成功)in saving his own life at last. His success(n.成功) encourages us to try to achieve (v.实现) our dreams. Why does Aron keep on climbing mountains even though (即使;虽然)he lost his right arm Because he wants to challenge (v.&n.战) himself in the face of( 面对)difficulties.
Step3. New words:
Show all the new words on the screen.
Read the words and have the students repeat. Invite several students read the words.
Step4. Fast-reading (3a):
Ask a student, Do you like mountain climbing
Say, Sometimes it can be dangerous when climbing mountains, especially very high mountains. What might be the dangers of mountain climbing Help students to answer the questions.
Read the title “Qomolangma---the most dangerous mountain in the world ”
Have students go through the passage quickly and match each paragraph with the main ideas.
Check the answers.Step5.Scanning (3b/3c):Have students read paragraph one quickly and answer question l and question2 in 3c and list four dangers for climbers in the chart
Check the answers.
Have students read paragraph two quickly and list three achievements.
Check the answers.
Have them read paragraph three quickly and answer question 3and question 4 in 3c
Then have them list four comparisons in paragraph land paragraph 3Check the answers and carry out emotional education.
Step6. Careful reading:
Have students work in groups, they read the passage carefully first, then they can feel free to ask any questions that they don't understand.
Group 2 and Group 3 ask questions they don't understand in paragraph one, the students in Group l answer. Group l and Group3 ask questions they don't understand in paragraph two, the students in Group 2 answer. Group 1 and Group 2 ask questions they don't understand in paragraph three, the students in Group 3 answer.
At the same time, I can offer some help or ask some questions to supply. Explain some difficult points for the students.
Step7. Exercises, then enjoy a video:
Ask students to translate some phrases and sentences into English.

课后反思
本节课来自人教版英语八年级下册第七单元“What’s the highest mountain in the world ” Section A(3a-3c)这是一节阅读课,讲的是珠峰的现状和危险、人们所取得的成就和珠峰精神。通过图片珠穆朗玛峰导入新课,引出本课话题。再一段一段细读,通过设计问题和思维导图,层层答疑,环环相扣。读中的输入环节我设计了通过文章内容回答问题,最后以“为什么登珠峰”做了情感教育上的提升。我感觉不足的地方在于:精读课文应该再多给学生点时间,给学生留足思考的时间。
