Teaching Procedure
Step1 Present and learn the chores at home
show students some pictures of housework. Then present:
What’s he doing He is doing the dishes/taking out the rubbish/
folding the clothes/ sweeping the floor/ making the bed/ cleaning the living room, etc.
Students read 1a aloud together/ halves/ group.
Match the Chores with the correct meanings.
Finish 1a then check their answers.
Step2 Present the key sentence patterns
Pretend to feel hot and ask a student to open the door.

Student1: Yes, sure.
Student2: Sorry. I’m doing my homework/ have to do my homework/going to do my homework/ must do my homework, etc.
Write down the patterns on the blackboard and teach students to read the sentence patterns.

Step5 Practice
Ask students to read the conversation in 1c aloud.
Students make conversations about the chore chores in 1a. Practice it in pairs.
Act out the conversations in group, then in class.
