One possible version：
Burley didn’t know which shelter Boomer was in. Smith immediately called nearby animal
shelters. Hard work paid off finally, and she learned Boomer had been taken to a shelter nearby. She
took an early lunch the next day and drove to the shelter, where she found Boomer in a large cage.
Smith immediately let Burley know Boomer’s current state. She managed to adopt Boomer and soon
Boomer was settled in her home, together with her dog.
With the permission (允许) of the nursing center, Smith was able to bring Boomer to work with
her. Burley had the opportunity to see Boomer several times a day, which helped greatly in his
