Step 1 Revision and lead-in
1.Chant together .(Module 3 Unit 2 Activity 4)
2. Freetalk
T: (Point to the picture and ask :)Look !What’s the weather like in this photo
Then show 3 pictures inUnit 2 , talk about them .
Eg: What’s the weather like in Photo 1 What are the birds doing
Then ask them to choose one to say .
Step 2TaskPresentation
Daming took these photos . We know he wrote his funny scenes to Lingling . Today our task is to review Module 3 and describe the scenes with the simple past tense or the present continuous tense .
(设计意图:提出本节课的学习任务,让学生明白将要做什么)
介绍评价:Here are some funny pictures of the dog and the bird for you .Today we have two groups .Let’s see which group can get more pictures .
Step 3 Practice
1.Listen to the letter and help them know the general idea .
T: Look ! It’s the letter from Daming to Lingling . Let’s listen again and pay attention to them .(Show the key words to them , get them say with me . At the same time , put them on the board .)
2. Read the text and answer .
a. T: Now read the letter and help Daming finish his funny trip card .
Ss finish the task paper .
b. Studentsanswer ,the teacher writes on the board .
c. Solve the key points .
Guide the students to pay attention to the past forms .Sum up the simple past tense and how to change the past verbs.Then chant together .At last,let students talk about what temporal adverbials they know.
(设计意图:英语语法规则往往是枯燥的,录制的趣味chant既能激发学生的学习兴趣,又能帮助学生在愉快的活动中总结动词过去式的变化规则,再通过练习及时进行巩固。)

(设计意图:创造性的使用教材,进行适当的调整,再创情境,进行语言输出训练,同时也对学生进行了听力训练,在此基础上引导学生总结现在进行时的结构和用法。)
2.Grammar: Sum up the tenses .
出示时间轴展示,帮助学生理解现在进行时、一般将来时、一般过去时。

(设计意图:通过时间轴直观形象让学生感受三种时态的用法及区别,并创设贴近学生生活实际的情境,让学生在真实的情境中对三种时态进行理解与运用。)
3.Have a deeper exercise
a. Lingling wrote back to Daming .In her letter , she describes two scenes . Now let’s have a match . Which group can get more leaves with the given words and guess where she went .(Each group has got 30 seconds .)
b. Listen to this letter and write the missing words . Then check together .
c.Do a reading comprehension .
(设计意图:由趣味竞赛说句子,到听音补全回信,再到阅读训练,有趣味性、有梯度性地对学生进行能力拓展训练。)
Step 5 Task Completion
Finish our task : Describe the scenes .
Talk about the trip card they got or finish their trip card .
(设计意图:小组合作谈论旅行经历,帮助学生丰富语言表达,为接下来的写作进一步铺垫。旅行卡片上的信息有过去式形式,原形形式还有空白卡片自己填写。)
Then write it down . Choose one to write .
One star : Describe your scenes or the trip card you got with the simple past tense .
Three stars : Describe the scenes about the dog and the bird(黑板评价所获得的图片)with the present continuous tense .
Then share .
(设计意图:写作时进行分层设计,做到上不封顶,下要保底。此环节紧紧与任务提出环节呼应,有效地达成教学目标。)
